sRPAS Advanced Flight Review
The final stage to acquire your advanced sRPAS license is to pass an in person flight review. With approval from Transport Canada, Sky Lens Studios can conduct these advanced sRPAS flight reviews and ensure all requirements are met.
Steps:
Pass your small advanced exam - TC Small Advanced Exam
Ensure you have a drone that is registered with Transport Canada - TC Drone Registration
Contact our Chief Pilot at scott@skylensstudios.com to coordinate a date and time for your sRPAS advanced flight review. We are affiliated with several flight schools in Canada to ensure Transport Canada compliance.

We will send you a complete flight review preparation package outlining everything you will need to bring, prepare for and know to pass the advanced flight review (see details of what is included below)
Plus we will send you BONUS MATERIALS designed to help you prepare and come ready for the exam (see below for details).

Preparation & Study - sRPAS Advanced Exam
The Transport Canada sRPAS advanced exam is no joke, it is hard! It requires you to have knowledge in several key sections and therefore requires allot of studying. Everyone is different but expect 10 to 20 hours of preparation. The good news is you can take the exam as many times as required to pass.

The Transport Canada advanced drone pilot online exam will draw from questions in eight key sections:

ROC-A (Aeronautical)
The ROC-A Radiotelephony Certificate (in theory but not yet in practice) allows you to communicate with air traffic control and manned aircraft using an aeronautical VHF radiotelephone. This capability is generally expected for professional drone operators operating in controlled airspace. This exam can be scheduled at any time and includes the ROC-A operators license.

General Details
The ROC-A exams are conducted in-person.
Multiple-choice questions and oral assessments are included in the exam.
Exams will be conducted in a closed-book format.
The candidate must be in Canada to take the exam.
Exam Booking Process
For the exam to take place, a time, date and location must be agreed upon.
The student must present the Aviation Examiner with identification at the beginning of the exam. (The following photo identifications are preferred - Driver's License, Passport, or PR card)
The exam duration is up to 60 minutes.
Issuance of Licence
ROC-A licenses usually arrive in the mail within four weeks.
